Central Machine Works Brewery

Central Machine Works Brewery brews its own beers, including a German pils, a hazy IPA and an American lager, and serves a food menu of wood-fired-style pizzas, loaded nachos, salads and sharable snacks like hummus and pretzels. The brewery occupies a former metal fabrication shop that began making airplane parts in 1940 and closed in 2016, and original machine parts and historic details remain throughout the beer hall. A large beer garden sits alongside the indoor space.

Walk-ins are welcome without a reservation, and families and pets are welcome too. Parking is on site on E. 5th Street. The brewery hosts private events and a regular calendar that includes trivia nights, a weekly run club and motorcycle meetups. Gift cards are available. It sits on East Cesar Chavez in Austin, and weekend hours run late.
