1886 Café & Bakery

1886 Café & Bakery is the café and bakery inside The Driskill hotel in downtown Austin, known for home-baked pastries and comforting Texas dishes. The menu includes migas, huevos rancheros, the signature Texas-Shaped Waffle, the 1886 Burger, sandwiches, salads, and a reimagined version of the 1886 Chocolate Cake. The café traces its roots to a Heritage Society lunchroom and opened in its current form on July 4, 2002.

The café serves breakfast and lunch daily, with hours from 6:30 AM until 3 PM. A Victorian-style dining room sits along 6th Street, and reservations can be made for the menu. Visitors and neighbors alike stop in for a casual meal or a pastry from the bakery.
