Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe is a German-style bakery and deli known for cakes, European breads and breakfast pastries. Its cake menu runs from petit four and buttercream cakes to wedding and groom's cakes, and it also sells cookies, sandwiches, cold cuts, party platters and dessert trays. Founders Wolfgang and Carla Büchler have run the shop since 1975, and a number of customers have been coming back for decades.

Cakes and party trays are ordered online or by fax, and orders need at least 72 hours notice. Cancellations inside 72 hours are not refunded, and a minimum 10% fee applies to changes. The shop is open Tuesday through Sunday and closed Mondays, with a few tables outside for nice-weather visits. It is at 2150 N. Culpeper Street in Arlington.
