General Muffler and Auto Repair

General Muffler and Auto Repair is an auto repair shop with an attached parts store on Main Street in Ansonia. The shop handles brakes, muffler and exhaust work, engine diagnostics and repair, oil changes, tune-ups and tires, and its mechanics are ASE certified. Emissions testing and ignition interlock service are among its specialties.

The parts counter sells auto parts and accessories at prices meant to undercut dealerships. Customers come from Ansonia, Derby and Seymour. The garage keeps weekday hours and Saturday mornings, while the emissions testing station and parts store stay open later on weekdays and into Saturday afternoon.
