Affordable fitness and group classes for island residents10804 Eckenstam Johnson Road, Anderson Island, WA
The Anderson Island Community Fitness Center is a nonprofit gym serving residents of Anderson Island, offering a full fitness floor with free weights, ellipticals, bikes and treadmills, plus group classes. It was set up to give islanders an affordable option, since travel to fitness facilities off the island means a ferry trip.
Membership includes five weekly group classes, including Pilates, strength training, stretching and yoga. Free senior classes are offered to island seniors and are held at the Archival Building. The center is in a small historic one-room schoolhouse at Wide Awake Hollow, and it plans to move to the larger Guthrie Building in early 2026 once the Parks Department finishes renovations. Tours and sign-ups go through the gym manager by phone or email. Donations are tax-deductible.
