Window Woman of New England

Window Woman of New England restores historic wood windows rather than replacing them. The work covers tune-ups that make windows operable again, renovations that add priming and exterior painting, and full restoration where sashes are stripped, repaired, reglazed and painted. Services also include broken glass replacement, rot repair, custom window fabrication and sash parts like weights, pulleys and cord.

The company was founded in 2003 by Alison Hardy and is based in Amesbury, Massachusetts. Tune-ups are done on site, while renovations and full restorations take the windows to the company's workshop, which is open Monday through Friday. Restoration projects can take several weeks, and free estimates are given. Owners should expect a longer wait for full restoration, which is priced by the number of panes, size and condition.
