Xol Original is a nonprofit that makes handmade shoes with Indigenous artisans, using reclaimed leather, natural fibers and eco-friendly dyes. Each pair is one of a kind, and customers can buy ready-to-wear designs from the market or order a custom pair.
The group also runs a kinship membership, where members receive a custom pair of shoes at a set frequency and their support goes to artisans and their communities. Xol Original meets shoppers in person at events and pop-up markets, and its Albuquerque address is on Bellamah Avenue Northwest in the Sawmill District.
