La Montanita Food Coop

La Montañita Food Co-op is a member-owned natural and organic grocery co-op, described on its site as the largest food co-op in the Southwest. It runs neighborhood grocery stores in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Gallup, and also operates a distribution center that supplies local food producers and serves restaurants, commercial kitchens and other food retailers.

You don't need to be a member to shop, and membership is listed at $15 a year for member-only savings and special offers. The co-op also runs a Round Up for Change program at the register, where shoppers round up their totals to support local community organizations. Stores have a deli and catering, and wholesale buying is handled through a separate form for suppliers and buyers.
