John Thomas Jewelers

John Thomas Jewelers is a jewelry store on the second floor of a Northeast Albuquerque building, best known for engagement rings and wedding bands. Its designers, John and Janelle Thomas, both trained at the Gemological Institute of America, create custom rings from scratch or by reworking an existing piece, with each diamond chosen by shape, cut and carat. The shop also carries fashion rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, men's wedding bands and estate jewelry, along with Antwerp diamonds.

Consultations are one-on-one and by appointment, and you can start designing an engagement ring online before visiting. The shop also handles jewelry repair, appraisals and laser engraving. Its warranty is free, lifetime and nationwide, and it pays for the first year of insurance on engagement rings. Hours run Tuesday through Saturday, with Saturday closing early.
