Gaia's Kava Root

Gaia's Kava Root is an alcohol-free kava bar that serves traditional kava shells in several sizes, along with crafted kava and kanna shots, mocktails, botanical teas and canned kava. Kava is a root drink used for centuries in Pacific ceremony, and the bar's menu includes a kanna soda and a lavender tea for a calmer evening. Guests must be 18 or older.

The bar hosts a free traditional kava ceremony on Sundays, along with weekly open decks, open mic and karaoke nights, and a student discount on weekday afternoons. Military and veterans get a discount every day with a valid ID. It also rents its space for private parties, yoga sessions and community events. It is on Central Avenue SE in Albuquerque, and drinks can be ordered for delivery through DoorDash.
