Thornton Industries, Inc.

Thornton Industries is a metal machining shop that does CNC milling, boring, grinding and turning on parts up to 45,000 pounds. Much of its work is for the forging industry, where it produces and repairs components, and it also makes parts and assemblies for power generation, steam turbine, specialty tool, automotive and aerospace customers.

The company started in 1976 as a welding and fabrication business and later grew into a tool and die shop. Its 30,000 square foot plant in Albion handles each project in-house, with a 25-ton crane for moving heavy pieces and a portable CMM for checking accuracy. Customers are mostly manufacturers and Tier One suppliers rather than walk-in buyers.
