Privately owned Akron cemetery founded in 1880183 Aqueduct Street, Akron, OH

Mount Peace Cemetery is a privately owned burial ground in Akron, founded in 1880 by German immigrants who opened its gates to all Akron residents. It offers burial services, personalized memorialization options, pre-planning, and a shop for memorial products. Near the main gate is the grave of Dr. Robert Smith, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.
The office keeps weekday hours, and other times can be arranged by appointment. Grounds stay open later in daylight saving time, closing at dusk the rest of the year. Burial records are searchable, and the cemetery is the final stop of Akron's Founder's Day weekend in June, which draws more than 10,000 visitors.
